Pumpkin carving

Carved up some pumpkins today. You know, when I was little, I remember it taking hours to clean out pumpkins. Now, it takes 5 minutes with the little scoopers they have out. We used to just use spoons. Kids now have it so easy, and they don't even know it ;)

Aiden got into it this year and helped me scoop out the pumpkins. Ok, he just played in the pumpkin seeds and goop. Actually, he scooped the goop back into the hollowed out pumpkins a couple of times. Maybe "help" is the wrong word. We decided to make zombie pumpkins this year - maybe because Jeremy has been watching a zombie show lately. It seemed like a good fit.

Aiden helped put in the eyeballs, but then decided to take them out and roll them across the floor, which was much more fun. Until Sophie snatched them up and claimed them as her own.

They were the easiest pumpkins we have done in a while! A couple round holes, stick in the plastic eyeballs and carve a quick mouth. And Voila! Zombies have invaded my front door!

My favorite is definitely the white pumpkin, he looks much more zombie like.

Then during nap time I whipped up some Halloween treats for dessert later to eat while watching a scary Halloween show (probably the Yo Gabba Gabba Halloween episode...again)!
